Engagement

dTeach unites a collective of educators, teachers, teacher trainers, pedagogues, scientists, content creators, editors, designers etc. who aim to pool their knowledge and expertise to drive change in education systems around the world on one platform. dTeach is building an open-source, transparent community that will leverage the power of blockchain to deliver immediate and measurable impact on education.

dTeach is an evolving community coordinating the creation and dissemination of open educational resources (OER) toward highest-quality, validated, and tested education material which produce tangible educational benefits in kindergardens, pre-schools, schools, universities, and homes.

Education is the key to make this world a better place to live in.

To deliver the change required, we need immediate and widespread mobilisation and coordination of those who can and want to contribute and participate. The change needs to be managed laterally and cooperatively, bottom-up rather than top-down by unaccountable "leaders." Only this way a change in education systems will be sustainable and positive.

Blockchain Technology

Blockchain technology will be the foundation for efficiently coordinate resources and outpace bureaucratic and political processes that together with the strong inertia of education systems hinder innovations and change. Blockchain can help to enable educational innovations and a systemic change through:

• Decentralization delivers change in the way we collectively pool our capital to deliver impact.

• Smart contracts disintermediate, facilitate and automate, and enable novel reward systems.

• Blockchain technologies enable coordination, collaboration and innovation, with transparency and accountability.

• Open source software and composability enable rapid scaling of this vision.

Vision

dTeach will function as a catalyst and ecosystem to collaboratively build the best educational resource and therewith raise quality and foster innovation in education leading to a systemic change in the global education system. dTeach's approach will enable us to build a education innovation nexus that can coordinate and execute strategic and operational educatinal initiatives where they are needed. dTeach grows a collaborative community with shared values, goals, and enthusiasm to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Guiding Principles

dTeach proposes to be a collective of active educational actors who broadly agree with the following guiding ideas, principles, and propositions:

• That dTeach reflects and holds the potential for a consciousness shift in education

• That dTeach's distributed collaboration format, is a new form of organizing educational resources.

• That education will have to be influenced by modes of governance involving multi-stakeholdership.

• That dTeach creates a new domain of educational commons which should be protected and extended, especially in the domain of common content knowledge creation; and that this domain requires fundamental changes in the intellectual property regime as reflected by creative commons licenses, should be promoted and extended.

• That dTeach contributes to a more collaborative social order.
